FUHSA: Advancing Medical Education and Healthcare in Nigeria"
The Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare (FUHSA) is a public institution located in Azare, Bauchi State, Nigeria. Established in 2021 by the Federal Government, the university was created to improve medical education and healthcare delivery across the country. This initiative was part of a broader effort by the Nigerian government to address the shortage of healthcare professionals by expanding access to specialized health sciences education.

The Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare is to produce High Quality Health and Medical Professionals with broad knowledge, skills and value, able to strengthen institutional capacity for disease control and surveillance as well as bridging the gap in medical research in the Country.

Our History
Its primary goal is to offer both undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various fields, including Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Allied Health Sciences. The university is dedicated to advancing medical research, fostering innovation, and training highly skilled healthcare professionals to contribute to the growth of Nigeria’s health sector.
Located in northern Nigeria, Azare, Bauchi State, provides a strategic setting for FUHSA. The university is being developed with state-of-the-art facilities, including teaching hospitals, laboratories, and research centers to ensure high-quality medical education and training. These resources are designed to support the university’s mission to train the next generation of healthcare professionals and contribute to improving Nigeria’s healthcare system.
FUHSA is actively expanding both its academic programs and infrastructure, with a vision of becoming a leading center for medical and health sciences education in the country. As it continues to grow, the university remains committed to its mission of delivering high-level training and research to meet the evolving healthcare needs of Nigeria.
